Is Age an influence when Choosing a Partner?

The question is, "Does age matter when choosing a partner?" and the answer is, "not at all". I've gone through my whole life with the same opinion that age is just a number. A person should have the right to love whomever they choose regardless of age difference. Their are certain aspects where it is helpful to choose a partner closer to your age but it's not required. In fact, many women tend to go for older men because women naturally mature faster than men. No offense to men but that's just the way it is. People who are closer together in age tend to share more interests than those who are farther apart in age. However, two people with a huge age difference could still share the same interests. For example, there is an 8 year age difference between me and my fiance' and we are both video game fanatics.



If you and your partner have a huge age difference, you may get a lot of weird, or even disgusted, looks on the street from people. It's not right in my opinion for people to judge but it happens sometimes. Some people have different views than others and this can make you feel like you're in the wrong but you're not. If it feels right, then it probably is right.

You may be more likely to get dirty looks if you're an older woman in a relationship with a much younger man. For some reason, people find that more disturbing than seeing an older guy with a younger woman. I don't understand it because I don't think that way but some people do. Most people won't say anything, they'll just stop and stare.


To sum it all up, age doesn't matter one bit when it comes to choosing a partner. You know what's right for you and other people know what's right for them. What one person thinks is wrong might be righ for another person. There is no right or wrong answer. If you feel that it's right then that's what's right for you and what other people think don't matter. People today care too much about what others think of them when they should be out living life to the fullest the way they want to, instead of the way other people want them to. Remember age is just a number, especially when it feels right.
